My name is Madeleine Overett, I‘m a Costume Stylist, Designer and Standby with over 15 years’ experience in TVC’s, film and television, across Queensland, Victoria, NSW, NT and New Zealand, from low budget indies through to international co-productions and studio films.

A little bit about me:

I’ve come a long way from shredding denim shorts on Nim’s Island (2008). I’ve done art finishing on Narnia, designed low budget genre films, wrangled modesty patches on hairy men, run costume from an inflatable raft waist-deep in water, fixed on the fly with a bit of leather thonging and wax thread on Furiosa, wrangled mermaid tales onto cast on Mako Mermaids and encouraged kids into motorcross safety gear on Maverix, as well as all the usual costume tasks.

I have high level attention to detail, am proactive, a problem solver, a team builder, an integral member of the crew and very good at working with cast of all ages.

My costume skills mainly come from working on a wide range of feature films, TVS and TVCs including

• Period films: Ten Pound Poms, Artful Dodger, Bride Flight and Unbroken (1940's-1960's).

• Military: Japanese, Indonesia, German and American, across Unbroken, Iron Sky and At Worlds End,

• Fantasy and sci fi in Narnia (Voyage of the Dawn Treader), Terra Nova and Iron Sky, and zombie western in Bullets for the Dead

• Water and beach work (The Reef, Mako Mermaids, Surviving Summer, Rip Tide, Home & Away)

• From deep underground and stunts (Guardian of the Tomb, Sanctum) to desert (Mad Max Furiosa) .

• Children’s film and TV (Mako Mermaids, Maverix, Bump, Heart break high and Surviving Summer), kids game show Letterbox,TVC Kellogs and kids theatre production Finding Nemo and Wedding singer.

Having worked in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Northern Territory and New Zealand,  family has drawn me to Melbourne. I believe I have the experience skills and commitment to the job that would make me a valuable member of any Production.
